If you have a Facebook account, you can share in one of two ways:
- Go to the Get It Write Online Facebook page. “Like” and “follow” it so the articles will start showing up in your own Facebook feed. Then find the post for the article you want to share, and simply click on “share.” You can add a comment or just share it without comment. (We also have on Facebook a Get It Write Online Group for the true grammarphiles among us. There we get into arcane issues that don’t interest most folks. 😊)
- Each week when you receive an email from me, there are a few links scattered throughout the email that take you directly to the article on the website. Click on any one of those links. Once you are on the website, copy the URL for that article. Then go to your Facebook page and paste the link (the URL) into a new post. Once the preview comes up, you can then delete the URL, but it’s fine to leave it in.
Get It Write is also on LinkedIn. Feel free to connect and to share articles I post there.
If you have an Instagram account, follow Get It Write. For most articles, I post an image (usually an attempt to be humorous). The link in the Instagram bio is always to the most recent article featured in an email.
If you see a post/cartoon/image that you wish to share with another Instagram user, you can click on the little airplane-like symbol beneath the post/image and a list of your Instagram followers will pop up. You can then choose those to whom you wish to send that post/image.
Feel free to forward GIW emails to others who might like to read the articles to which they link. Encourage them to become subscribers!
